JOB SUMMARY

Columbia Manufacturing, a Collective Manufacturing Group company, is a dynamic manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality products to our clients. We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Controller to support our growing operations in Columbia, Connecticut a be part of the Senior Leadership Team. In addition to responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and compliance with regulations, this role provides essential business partnership to the Commercial and Operational leaders at Columbia. The role has a dual reporting structure to the CEO of Columbia and the CFO of Collective Manufacturing.

The Controller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, compliance with regulations, implementation of effective cost controls, and execution of strategic financial planning within a manufacturing environment. This role involves overseeing AR/AP, Treasury activities, tax compliance, budgeting, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will enhance the financial health and profitability of the business through supporting decision making on product pricing and cost management.

LOCATION: Columbia, CT

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Collaborate with production teams to monitor manufacturing costs and efficiency, including inventory valuation.
  • Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements, provide financial insights to senior management.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Monitor key financial and operational metrics (KPIs) and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Partner with the operation, engineering, and supply chain team to track and analyze manufacturing costs, labor utilization, and material spending.
  • Evaluate capital expenditure requests, ROI analyses, and project cost tracking.
  • Assist with pricing analysis, cost modelling, and margin analysis to support customer quotations and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a manufacturing or aerospace industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint); experience with ERP systems, Visual is preferred.
