Engineering Intern

JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a part time Engineering Intern who wants to gain experience and learn by performing a variety of design and develop activities in a machine shop environment and help to enhance the productivity of our organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop process documentation to manufacture parts to customer supplied drawings and technical data.
  • Process engineering change documentation including significant 3D modeling of parts.
  • Work hands on with shop personnel on tooling and process improvements.
  • Ensure that all customer, company, and industry standards are adhered to.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Perform time studies.
  • Work with Manufacturing team to improve Quality.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualified candidate must demonstrate CAD software skills (Solidworks preferred), have strong attention to detail and solid PC skills including Excel and Word. Have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment. Must be comfortable working in a machine shop environment, familiarity with hands on machining is a plus. Candidate should be a self starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Candidate should be a undergraduate or graduate student actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Should be able to understand and interpret basic blueprints and customer specifications.
