Financial Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

As a Financial Analyst reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll provide hands-on support to our operating companies and have the opportunity to directly support their success. This early-career role offers broad exposure across multiple businesses, direct collaboration with executive leadership, and a clear path to senior finance positions (e.g., site Controller or corporate leadership). You’ll help standardize financial processes, deliver actionable insights, and build capacity in a high-impact, low-overhead environment.

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Employment Type: Full-Time (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis for the holding company and operating units.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to identify trends and opportunities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with operating company leaders on cost analysis, inventory valuation, and operational financial metrics (e.g., labor efficiency, material costs).
  • Help implement and maintain standardized financial processes and tools across units using the company playbook.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects to support strategic decisions, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a bridge between finance and operations, ensuring value creators have the financial information needed to make effective decisions.
  • Contribute to financial modeling, KPI tracking, and process automation (e.g., Excel-based tools, ERP enhancements).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA track or MBA is a plus).
  • 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in manufacturing, aerospace, or a related industry (strong internships considered for entry-level candidates).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Self-starter comfortable in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with direct access to leadership.
  • Located in the greater Hartford, CT area, ideally within driving distance of Columbia Manufacturing in Columbia, CT.
